The 6th European Symposium on Rare Anaemias is quickly approaching. Organized by the European Network for Rare and Congenital Anaemias, this first Dutch-Belgium meeting for patients and health professionals will take place November 21-22, 2015 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. This event is of no cost to patients and their families and will be presented in Dutch and English.
As patients we are excited that, for the first time, there will be a special focus on pyruvate kinase deficiency. Not only will this symposium bring together worldwide experts in this rare anaemia, but importantly, it will provide a unique forum for discussion between patients and health professionals. Also, at this event there will be a representative from the PK deficiency patient support group available to answer questions.
“I can’t wait to learn more about PKD and future developments, but above all, I’m looking forward to meeting other persons with PKD, “ said one European patient looking forward to attending this event. “The PKD Support group (this website and the facebook group) will have a little stand to exchange experiences and share contact information, please come and find us!”
